New Director – Sam Irvine

New Director – Sam Irvine

Softball ACT is excited to announce a new director (board member) has been added to our team!

Sam Irvine has been appointed by the Board to one of our vacant ‘board appointed’ roles, and comes with a wealth of experience within sports management fields.

He’s been involved with National, State and Local sporting organisations, as well as the AIS and Queensland State Government, and currently works as the General Manager of Product at Sponserve, a commercial start-up which was designed to solve the sponsorship problems of some of Australia and the UK’s biggest (and smallest) sporting brands!

Sam has been engaged to assist Softball ACT primarily with understanding corporate partnership opportunities and how to leverage them to benefit the organisation, but we’re also very keen to tap into his operational knowledge from many years working with Capital Football in a managerial role of operations.

His appointment follows a recent commitment from our Board to attract and retain professional directors to help drive our organisation forward.

Sam himself is looking forward to giving back to the local sporting community, particularly through Softball ACT, which he believes has a proud history, and a very bright future.

He does support the Swans… but nobody’s perfect
