Age Requirements

Age determined as at 31 December 2025
Minimum age 35 years

Age Groups

Female: 35+, 45+ 55+
Male: 35+, 45+ 55+

Divisions

Fast Pitch – Men’s & Women’s
Competitive & Social (Grades to be assigned)
Softball ACT reserves the right to grade teams in consultation with the competition committee.

Number of Participant Requirements

Teams must have a minimum of 6 registered players by the close of Gold entry period (4 May 2025) and a minimum of 9 registered players by the close of Early Bird entry period (27 July 2025) to ensure their place in the draw.

The competition will be capped at 84 total teams.

Squad Sizes

Minimum number of competitors: 10 per Team
Maximum number of competitors: 15 per Team (17 for 55+ teams)

• Fast pitch Competition ONLY
• There is a team cap of 84 teams which we are hopeful of expanding

• Separate competition is open to both male and female participants
• Social Grade, Competitive Grade (Grades to be assigned)
• Softball ACT will be in touch with Team Mangers to determine team/player ability to assist with grading prior to the draw being released at the end of September.
• Softball ACT reserves the right to grade teams in consultation with the competition committee
• As per the competition rules, the minimum number of registered players to take the field is seven – team lists will be a maximum of fifteen per team plus officials (e.g. coach, manager and scorer). However, it is suggested to have at least 10 players registered in case of unforeseen injuries
• Teams must have a minimum of 6 registered players by the close of Gold entry period (4 May 2025) and a minimum of 9 registered players by the close of Early Bird entry period (27 July 2025) to ensure their place in the draw.
• Acceptance of team entry is conditional upon the team supplying an umpire who is available to umpire every day of the tournament. The nominated team umpire MUST be competent in umpiring both as a plate and base umpire, at least for the division that their team is playing in
• If needed, teams will be penalised for failure to provide an umpire for any allocated time slot
• Teams need to supply their own coaching staff

Age Dispensation

• All players have the ability to play down in age
• Dispensations for younger players to play in the 45+ or 55+ competitions will not be considered for the AMG 2025 Softball tournament.  All players playing in the 45+ or 55+ competitions must meet the age requirements as per the Ages & Divisions information included on the AMG 2025 Softball webpage

Rules

The competition will be conducted under Softball Australia Rules and Regulations.
We will be including “Local Rules” These will be sent directly to registered teams

Affiliation

Participants need to register for a casual membership with the host State organisation for insurance purposes if they are not already registered with Softball Australia and/or their home State body.
