Former General Manager Jon Wells has finished up with Softball ACT (SACT), with Monday 21 August his last official day in the role.
This was Jon’s second stint with Softball ACT, extending almost two (2) years, after being asked to return to help provide stability and leadership to the sport in the ACT.
Nathan Bale, SACT President, spoke glowingly of the leadership of Wells earlier today,
“Jon has been both a friend and valuable contributor to the sport for many years, and it’s 100% true that the sport and State would not be in the position we are today without his tireless leadership and work. Jon’s fierce passion for Softball and it’s role in the community has delivered Softball ACT a sustainable future, and one that he can be very proud of having played a leading hand in. Aside from his considerable work ethic, Jon is a genuinely lovely bloke that will be missed, and on behalf of the SACT Board, I would like to wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Jon will no doubt still be seen around the diamonds, so please make sure you thank him if you see him around, but in the meantime he will still be working hard; albeit on lowering his golf handicap and improving the fortunes of The Rooftop Foundation, with which he is continuing to partner.
