ACT prep HQ for softball return with brand new seating
Published Mon 27 Sep 2021
Softball ACT has taken the opportunity in lockdown to prepare the diamonds at Hawker International Softball Centre for the return of spectators with brand new grandstand seating installed this week, courtesy of Canberra Containers.
Spectators will now be able to view games from the comfort of individual seating behind home plate with six rows providing the best view in the house.
It's another step to the upgrading of Hawker International Softball Centre who earlier this year secured funding for all-new lighting to be installed around the complex.
“We’re delighted to be upgrading the facilities at Hawker with brand new seating, it’s another step to providing a great experience for our members as well as their friends and family,” said Softball ACT State Operations Manager Kyira Cox.
“Our thanks to Canberra Containers for providing this great new asset to our community, and to Mitchell Cranes for their help with the installation this week.”
The new seating will be a warm welcome for softballer’s returning to Hawker when government restrictions allow for sport to re-start which is expected to be early November.
Softball ACT is anticipating more upgrades to the facility, including further seating improvements, along with additional shade structures, in the coming months.
