Share the Dignity
Published Fri 12 Nov 2021
Softball ACT is proud to announce a partnership with Share the Dignity, a women’s charity aimed at supporting those in crisis experiencing period poverty.
Share the Dignity is founded on a philosophy that everyone deserves to be afforded the dignity many of us take for granted, and works by distributing sanitary products to anyone who needs support.
As part of the partnership, Softball ACT have installed a Dignity vending machine in Changeroom 2 at Hawker Softball Centre. Dignity vending machines dispense a free period pack, known as a #PinkBox, with six tampons and two pads.
The Dignity vending machine would not be possible without the support of Woolworths and Pacific FM, who provided and installed the machine respectively.
From 19-28 November, Softball ACT are also taking donations from the community for the #ItsInTheBag campaign, the annual Share the Dignity event where bags of essential items are donated to those in need for Christmas.
Softball ACT State Operations Manager Kyria Cox said the partnership with Share the Dignity reflects the generosity of the softball community.
“Just from my engagement with softball people in the ACT, I know how compassionate and supportive our community can be. Share the Dignity are addressing an important cause, and I think this partnership will resonate with many of our people.”
