Softball ACT Annual General Meeting Notice

Softball ACT (SACT) would like to advise that the Annual General Meeting will be held at 7.00pm on Thursday 17 August in the Hawker Softball Clubhouse.

Due to Director resignation and Board vacancies, nominations are being called for six (6) Director positions.

Four (4) positions will be for a 2 year period while the other two (2) will be for one year to ensure we continue to maintain the requirements within the SACT Constitution.  When submitting your nomination, please indicate if you wish to be considered for the one year appointment.

To nominate for the Board, please download and complete the Nomination Form, and email it to: charlotte.jeffery@softball.org.au by 5.00pm on 19 July.

In accordance with the Constitution of Softball ACT, a nomination form must be signed by two voting members.

Nominees for the SACT Board should posses one or more of the following skills and experience:

  • Previous Board/Director
  • Financial
  • Governance
  • Business Acumen
  • Strategic Thinking/Planning
  • Risk Management
  • Policy Development
  • Legal
  • Government Relations and Lobbying
  • Community Engagement
  • Marketing
  • Public Relations
  • Facility Development

Nominees should also posses the following attributes:

  • Integrity
  • Communication
  • Team Player
  • Contributor
  • Critical Thinking
  • Innovative Thinker
  • Leadership

Note also that Directors should be independent and cannot also be a Delegate, an employee of SACT or hold an Official Position in any Affiliated Association or Affiliated Club.

Notwithstanding the prevailing criterion requirements noted above, to meet Government requirements, the Board should be composed in a manner such that no one sex accounts for more than 60% of the total number of Directors.
