Something for everyone in 2022

Published Mon 06 Dec 2021

After bushfires and COVID-19 disrupted the last two seasons, Softball ACT have planned a calendar full of events to get everyone back on the diamond in 2022.

From the youngest to the oldest, and from the social to the more competitive, State Operations Manager Kyira Cox said Hawker Softball Centre has something to offer in the coming months:

“The disruption over the last two years has given us time to review our calendar and identify where we can fill gaps or offer new programs, so we can get more people involved in softball. We now have something on offer from January through until April, and can’t wait to kick things off in the new year.”

2022 Summer Holiday Camp

This summer holiday camp can take your softball skills to the next level. Athletes have the option of attending for 1, 2, or 3 days, and each day will follow a schedule that includes sport activities (fielding, hitting, throwing, and catching) and water activities (learning how to slide on slip-n-slide). We will also break into primary and high school age groups to ensure each athlete can fine tune their softball skills and learn a few new ones. It’s all about having plenty of fun with your friends!

2022 Australian Sports Camp

The Australian Sports Camp is aimed at introducing new players to softball. We help develop the fundamentals of the game via skill-based learning through play, in a fun and relaxed environment. Like the Summer Holiday Camp, athletes will be allocated into breakout groups based on age, and have the option of attending one or both days.

Softball Batter Up Camps

SBU Camps are where many players start their softball journey. They are for children aged 5-10 who are new to the game. Camp participants will attend 6x 1-hour sessions, where they learn the most basic of softball skills. This camp aims to be very personal and engaging, so numbers will be kept small.
