Softball in ACT Schools



Softball ACT is excited for the upcoming 2017/2018 summer softball season.

There are different options available for each age group and skill set for school groups in the ACT, see below for further relevant information.






Diamond Ball: 3 – 5 yo

The aim of the Diamond Ball program is to encourage participation and cooperation in team sports, while learning valuable hand / eye coordinations skills and having FUN!

  • Experienced coaching staff
  • All equipment supplied
  • Children will learn new skills through fun games
  • Introduction to Tee-ball and softball through modified games

Primary/Special Schools: Grades K – 6

Sporting Schools – Softball Batter Up Program

Softball ACT is currently offering packages in alignment with the Australian Sports Commission Sporting Schools Program in both North and South Canberra.

The Softball Batter Up Program (SBU) program is used to introduce participants to the fundamentals of tee-ball through activities which are aligned with the National Physical Education Curriculum.

Softball ACT has coaches available for school clinics independent or a part of the Sporting Schools Program.

Tee-ball – Gala Day & Competition

We are offering Gala Days for Tee-ball from grades K-3 and 4-6 on Friday afternoons for a 6 week per term competition, from 4:00pm with warm up activities starting from 3:30pm

These will be mixed teams with 9 players on the field. Schools will be required to supply their own equipment.

If your school is interested in participating in the Saturday Morning competition at Hawker or Mawson email Softball ACT for further information.



High School Grades 7 – 10 & College 11 – 12

There are two options available for these age groups (split up into high school and college divisions)

  • Social 7s – Mixed teams and gender specific
  • Fast-pitch Softball – Gender Specific

These will be run as gala days at Hawker International Softball Centre during the school week with 4 -5 games played.
